Behavioral Health Tech is the most consistent point of contact for our adult patients with substance use disorders. The BHT is responsible for conducting regular safety checks, directing patients to appointments and activities, assisting with intakes, and performing a variety of administrative tasks to ensure our programs function safely and efficiently. The BHT is part of a supportive, team-based approach that models collaborative, solution-based problem solving and authentic communication.
In the location of the facility, this role is appropriate for those currently certified - or interested in becoming certified - as a Behavioral Health Tech, Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA), Certified Peer Support Specialist, or for those pursing CADC or LADC status.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Perform and document safety checks on all patients every 30-60 minutes.
* Search patient rooms and belongings for contraband as directed.
* Monitor patient activity and behavior to ensure physical and emotional safety.
* Provide emotional support and de-escalation for patients in distress.
* Maintain and promote healthy boundaries.
* Respond and participate as assigned to emergency codes.
* Promote and protect each patient's independence, privacy, dignity, and emotional and physical well-being.
* Pick-up and drop-off patients between locations using company vehicle.
* Operate company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
* Transport patients during treatment to different locations based on program participation, clinical requirements, or medical necessity.
* Maintain vehicle cleanliness and patient transportation log when transporting patients.
* Follow company-established policies and procedures and maintain adherence to established practice guidelines.
* Remain current with all required training and certifications.
* Maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
* Practice respectful, compassionate, supportive communication with patients and colleagues.
* Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Valid state-issued driver's license required. Must have had a clean driving record for at least the past 3 years, and no DUI's or reckless driving charges in the past 7 years.
* Current certification, or interest in becoming certified, as a Recovery Coach, CDCA, Certified Peer Support Specialist, CADC, or LADC.
* Flexibility and aptitude for problem-solving.
* Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Must be insurable on company vehicle liability insurance.
* Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
* Valid state-issued driver's license with clean driving record for at least the past 3 years, and no DUI's or reckless driving charges in the past 7 years.
