Job Description:
*$5,000 Sign-on Bonus (as of Nov 11, 2024)Are you looking for a rewarding career working with children with autism? The New England Center for Children (NECC), is looking for individuals who are passionate about helping our students lead more independent lives. Work just 3-5 days each week, 40 hours a week, during evenings & overnights (with sleeping segments of overnight shifts).Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) work in our residential program and collaborate with a team of professionals to instruct students in general curriculum areas including communication, social skills, activities of daily living (i.e. personal hygiene), vocational skills, adaptive physical education, and self-preservation. BHTs are responsible for keeping our students' spaces clean and safe and will do some general house chores. They are also trained in medication administration (MAP), student van transportation, and verbal and physical de-escalation of challenging behaviors (CALM training), allowing our students to effectively communicate their needs, improve their problem-solving skills, and maintain their well-being. Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Willingness to help students who engage in challenging behaviors
  • Must be able to communicate and provide verbal instruction clearly with our students
  • Valid Driver's License with personal vehicle
  • CPR training completion through NECC within 6 months of employment
  • Successful completion of NECC training - Physical and Verbal De-escalation training (CALM) and Medication Administration training (ability to get MAP Certified)
