About Us:
Relief Mental Health was founded in February of 2020. Within these 3 years we have expanded to 10 new offices across Illinois, Wisconsin, and New Jersey. We aim to create a new standard for mental health care, offering a continuum of innovative therapeutic interventions and responding to evolving patient needs.
Job Summary:
The clinical assistant will be working closely with the Mental Health Provider to perform basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing (urine drug screens and pregnancy tests) and other patient care. The ideal candidate is a compassionate person who pays attention to detail and is eager to assist patients and families.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist visitors and patients when they arrive at the office
- Review all patient paperwork and mental health assessments
- Assist with phone calls from patients
- Coordinate the daily administrative activities, including but not limited to scheduling, entering patient data in the EHR system, patient check-in and check-out, rooming patients, patient medical record maintenance, etc.
- Preparation and upkeep of exam and treatment rooms
- Obtain and record patient medical histories, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Assist providers with performing basic vital signs and point of care testing (urine drug screens and pregnancy tests) and other patient care
- Assist providers with pharmacy calls regarding prescription questions and issues
- Assist in prior authorizations for medications
- Assist with printing and faxing documents
- Follow office workflow procedures to ensure maximum efficiency
- Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families
- Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA
Skills:
- Phlebotomy experience preferred but not required
- Previous experience with EHR systems - Kareo is a plus
- Previous experience with Google Drive
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with electronic medical health care record system preferred, not required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs - moving or assisting patient to bathrooms may be required
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shift
