Implements interventions appropriately, according to patients individualized needs and plan of care tomoderate/stabilize symptoms. Collaborates and communicates effectively with patients, families, and treatmentteam members to facilitate maximum client outcomes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitates group treatment modalities within scope of practice, as assigned by the Program Coordinator,using approved curriculum and standard group facilitation techniques. Completes a progress note forevery client that attended their groups. Develops therapeutic relationship with individual clients in program; provides regular opportunities forone-to-one interaction with client's when requested by Program Coordinator. Demonstrates advanced level of crisis intervention skills and diversional techniques, as appropriate theninteracting with patient and family members. Demonstrates the ability to assess patient's immediate needs as well as coordinate and evaluate allpertinent resources existing to expedite patient's return to baseline functioning. Conducts initial psych-social and/or substance abuse assessments of new clients when requested by theProgram Coordinator. Demonstrates the use of advanced level critical thinking skills and problems solving abilities inrecommending levels of care. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful/emergency situations. Consults other departments and/or agencies, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approachto the patient's needs. Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians/directors/charge nurse/ coworkers. Interacts professionally with patient/family and always treats patients/families with respect and dignity;ensures patient confidentiality. Provides service guided by ethical principles and in accordance withapplicable laws. Contributes to the team concept and maintains a positive working relationship, both within thedepartment and with other departments, assisting when a need is observed or requested, and offersconstructive suggestions for improvement instead of complaints. Documentation reflects departmental protocol and supports policies and procedures. Can manage and operate unit equipment safely and correctly. Demonstrates knowledge of current patient safety goals and policies. Participates in the clinical development of self and others to provide for personal growth, unit clinicalcompetency, and position retention. Demonstrates leadership ability by assuming responsibility and accountability for assigned departmentactivities and healthcare system goals. Demonstrates an advanced level of ability to meet the demands of patients who exhibit a variety ofstressor and/or pathology. Basic computer knowledge EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL/OTHER: Master's degree from an accredited university in behavioral health field - Psychology, Marriage andFamily Counseling, Social Work, Professional Counseling, Substance Abuse. Current license as a LAC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LAMFT, or LMFT. Two years of crisis and/or assessment experience preferred. Biannual CPR certification and completion of mid-cycle CPR demonstration.
