Why does the job exist?The Community Behavioral Health Clinician (CBHC) Supervisor is a newly developed position that will report directly to the CBHC Regional Manager. This position will be responsible for supervising a team of Community Behavioral Health Clinicians (CBHC) to support children and families involved with the CYFD system. The focus will be providing consultation and support regarding behavioral and mental health needs. Community engagement and assistance is crucial in the position along with effective communication skills and understanding the role of the Community Behavioral Health Clinicians. The CBHC Supervisor will work on taking a team approach to meeting the needs of the children and families. On call and travel is a requirement of the position. How does it get done?50% Supervision - Oversight, direction, and supervision of Community Behavioral Health Clinicians. Supervision includes:a. Ongoing supervision and oversight of team efforts to meet CYFD strategic plan along with clinical development of CBHC's.b. Recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training and evaluating staff performance, time oversight and approval, and other related managerial duties. c. Operating Principles of being kind, respectful and responsive and ensure staff adheres to these principles. d. This position is responsible for ensuring the compensatory balances of their employees shall not exceed the cap by: being aware of each of their employee's compensatory time balances; ensuring their employees request overtime in advance and receive approval before earning compensatory time; submitting any approvals to earn compensatory time in excess of the cap up the chain to the Division Director for approval which includes a plan to reduce the excess hours to lower or at the cap level by the following pay.10% Policy and Program Implementation and Oversight - Provides clinical insight to the implementation of children's behavioral health services and supports. This position operationalizes policies into practice:a. Oversight of implementation of new screening/assessment tools, to include providing feedback and recommendations for adjustments based upon use and lessons learned.b. Oversight of implementation of new clinical initiatives.c. Communication and adjustment through staffing with Department leadership.20% Internal/External Clinical CollaborationOversee complex, high-level/high-need clinical situations.a. Provide support to making system changes and recommendations from experience in attending high level staffing.b. Track out-of-home/out-of-state behavioral health placements and oversee clinical staffing and related reporting to direct supervisor, to include oversight of case staffing, providing clinical oversight and guidance, and educating team members on trauma-responsive approach to care.20% Clinical Consultation and OversightThis position also oversees and ensures compliance to policies and procedures for all Community Behavioral Health Clinicians particularity those assigned to PS involved cases. Attend meetings, visit in person with families or individuals with PS worker when warranted.a. Participate in team meetings, using the Individualized Planning Process (IPP), to provide clinical oversight and guidance; to teams starting from the beginning of a case and assisting through transition period. Who are the customers?The CBHC Supervisor will directly supervise a small team of Community Behavioral Health Clinicians (CBHC) who are located in their designated region. The focus is to support CBHC's in their duties of providing support through consultation to identified populations involved with CYFD. The CBHC Supervisor will work with the CBHC Regional Manager regarding connecting with community providers and building a network of providers to refer and work with to meet the needs of the families involved with CYFD. Ideal CandidateThe CBHC Supervisor will have knowledge and experience working within the children's behavioral health system. The CBHC Supervisor will be independently licensed (LCSW, LPCC or LMFT) with experience providing clinical supervision and working with at risk or high needs families. The CBHC Supervisor will have strong collaborative skills that will support across government, community and family systems. Minimum QualificationLicensure in New Mexico as an LISW, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LPAT and three (3) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field andor direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required experience. Employment RequirementsMust possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Working ConditionsThe position will work out of an office setting 70 % of the time providing supervision and participating in meetings. The supervisor will also engage in community-based meetings working with individuals or families face to face when visiting the office or assisting other divisions when needed.
