OverviewThe Behavioral Intervention Aide implements behavioral intervention for children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. The intervention procedures are designed by a Case Supervisor and supervised by a Senior Behavioral Intervention Aide, but are carried out by the Behavioral Intervention Aide working in the child's home, school, or community. A Place to Be Proud.Responsibilities* Implement behavioral intervention in the home, school, or community of client.* Attend and actively participate in team meetings for clients.* Attend all required staff meetings, trainings, and seminars.* Implement all procedures delineated by the Senior Behavioral Intervention Aide, Case Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor, and Psychologist.* Collect data related to all therapy activities as directed.* Complete all administrative paperwork according to specifications provided.* Seek and accept feedback.* Be prompt and dependable, and make proper notifications in case of scheduling problems.* Maintain appropriate relationships with client and client's family and other professionals.* Provide age-specific and disorder-specific care.* Protect child's rights to confidentiality.* Demonstrate appropriate team work.* Demonstrate organizational skills.* Perform other related duties as required.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED* Bachelor's degree in the field of psychology (preferred), special education, speech/language, or other related field.* Reliable transportation and car insurance required to deliver care to clients at home or in the community.MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS* Able to lift child up to 40 pounds and manage physical resistance from child up to age 14.* Constantly must hear, see, speak, and be physically mobile.* Demonstrate ability to pass safety requirements as set by department.The above list of duties is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
