We invite you to share this journey with us.Division: Front Office (FRN006)MK Luggage Valet AttendantPrimary Responsibilities: Greet all guests and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner. Open the door of arriving or departing vehicles for the guests, loading or unloading packages or luggage. Valet park, tag bags, and load/unload luggage or packages. Deliver luggage and escort guests to and from room upon check-in and check-out. Deliver amenities, boxes, faxes and other items requested by the guests. Provide information about the resort and its recreational facilities and dining rooms, Big Island attractions and local activities. Assist in answering the phone or arranging for taxi service.Essential Duties:
  • Greet guests upon their arrival at the porte cochere in a friendly welcoming manner according to resort standards.
  • Open vehicle doors promptly upon arrival/departure and load/unload all luggage and packages.
  • Valet park and retrieve vehicles adhering to speed limit and safety procedures.
  • Deliver and extract items to/from guest rooms or function areas.
  • Escort guests to rooms with their luggage following proper procedures, providing information about the resort facilities, restaurants, Big Island attractions and events.
  • Arrange luggage in rooms according to guest preference, providing information about the room.
  • Answer phone at the bell desk and arranges luggage pick-up, transportation or other guest requests.
  • Must be warm and friendly at all times, greeting guest and personalizing their service.
  • Tag luggage and locate lost luggage.
  • Polish luggage carts.
  • Shine guest shoes upon requests.
  • Assist guests in making dining reservation or with other requests.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
  • Deliver or pick-up golf bags from the golf shop.
  • Other Duties:
  • Keep work area and lobby clean and orderly.
  • Transport guests to/from various areas of the resort.
  • Report any unauthorized or suspicious person on the guest room floors to security.
  • Assist other position in the department.
  • Working Conditions:
  • Work primarily outdoors at the porte cochere
  • Work outdoors, hotel corridors, parking lot/structure in various weather conditions
  • Work Hours:
  • Able to work shift and days determined by the manager
  • Able to work in excess of 40 hours per week if needed.

  • Mental and Physical Demands:
  • Lift and carry heavy luggage, golf bags, etc. weighing up to and over 50 lbs.
  • Push and pull cart with up to or over 50lbs luggage or bags
  • Bend and reach to load and unload luggage or golf bags from vehicles.
  • Able to deal with irate guests and remain friendly.
  • Able to stand and walk during most of shift, climb in/out of vehicles
  • Communication Demands:
  • Must be able to verbally communicate with employees, managers and guests.
  • Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  • Driver's License
  • Acceptable Traffic Abstract
  • Must be pleasant, smiling and friendly
  • Safely operate vehicles with automatic and standard shift
  • PUC physical if operating resort shuttle or vehicle to transport guests
