For over 75 years, companies and individuals have looked to Kapnick as a trusted advisor, providing solutions that protect their operations and employees.This Benefit Advisor position works with the Client Executive to create a unique employee benefit strategy to address rising healthcare costs for existing customers in accordance with the objectives and procedures outlined by the manager & team leaderThe Benefit Advisor's essential functions include:
- Strategize with internal teams on client's budgetary goals, plans to propose, & markets to approach
- Ability to work on fully insured, experience-rated, and self-funded groups
- Assist the Benefit Advisory Manager with department projects as needed
- Stay current with underwriting guidelines and product information from primary carriers
- Attend departmental, agency, Service Team, and client meetings as required
- Negotiate with carriers on behalf of clients to ensure the best pricing available for renewals and new offerings
- Create RFP's based on internal strategy discussions; follow up on submissions and contact insurance carriers regarding quotation status
- Collaborate with Client Executives and Account Executives to perform financial analysis of employee benefit plans for current clients; identify potential areas for benefit-cost improvement
- Develop an understanding of carrier products, rates, and coverages to take on a consultive role for the Kapnick teams around these items
- Knowledge of carrier renewal development methodology and different funding types
- Responsible for the creation of financial analysis projects for clients both out of Lens and based on carrier reporting
- Utilize BNCHMRK, a benchmarking tool, to provide reporting to the service team when requested
- Provide historical plan information to Innovu during Kapnick Lens implementation (rates, contributions, monthly claim, and enrollment reporting, benefit summaries, stop loss/admin contracts)
- Audit historical plan account structure set-up for new groups and renewal plan year account structure at each renewal in Lens
- Responsible for monthly claims reporting to Account Executive/Client Executive; includes plan performance observations as appropriate

RequirementsTo be considered for the Benefit Advisor position, you should have:
- Bachelor's Degree (4-year college or technical school) - Mathematics, Finance, Business, and Economics: Preferred
- 3+ years of experience in employee group benefits
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point) familiarity with carrier underwriting tools (employee benefits), and agency management systems
