We are looking for a dedicated Human Resources Benefits Specialist to join our team! This role is key in administering and managing employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other company-provided benefits. The ideal candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of these benefit plans, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, and providing expert guidance and support to employees. You will assist employees in understanding their benefits options, collaborate with benefits providers, and work closely with the HR team to streamline benefits-related tasks.
- Administer company-provided benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, retirement plans (401(k) or other), and other voluntary benefits.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries, resolving issues, and providing information about plan details, coverage, and eligibility. Educate employees on available benefits and enrollment processes.
- Manage the benefits enrollment process, including new hires, annual open enrollment, and qualifying life event changes. Ensure employees are properly enrolled or removed from benefits plans in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws related to employee benefits, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and HIPAA. Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee benefits, enrollment forms, and related documentation.
- Collaborate with the HR team to develop and distribute communication materials regarding benefits updates, changes, and reminders. Conduct informational sessions and workshops to educate employees on benefits programs and upcoming enrollment periods.
- Serve as the liaison between the company and benefits providers, ensuring seamless communication and resolution of any issues. Work closely with vendors to manage costs, negotiate plan terms, and address service concerns.
- Assist employees with benefits claims issues by coordinating with benefits providers to resolve disputes or discrepancies.
- Administer employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, short-term and long-term disability, and other types of leave. Ensure proper documentation and compliance with legal requirements.
- Conduct periodic audits of benefits plans to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and cost-efficiency. Prepare and provide reports on benefits usage, costs, and enrollment statistics to HR leadership.
- Support the development and administration of employee wellness programs. Encourage participation in wellness initiatives and promote resources that improve employee well-being.
- Work closely with the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits-related deductions, adjustments, and reimbursements.
