We especially encourage women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, veterans, and people with disabilities to apply.Position Title Benefits Administrator Position Number 898275 School/Division Human Resources (division) Department Office of Human Resources Full-Time or Part-Time Full-Time Description The Benefits Administrator reports to the Director, Benefits Administration and provides administrative support to the Benefits Administration team. Additionally, the incumbent will provide exceptional customer service to the University's employee population consisting of faculty, administrators and union personnel and will be responsible for administering all aspects of the University's tuition remission and tuition scholarship benefit programs. This is an onsite position; work for this role is performed on campus.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides customer service to employees on a wide range of employee benefits related questions, including but not limited to health, dental, retirement, flexible spending, life insurance, long term disability, tuition, FMLA, PFL, disability and workers compensation.
  • Conducts new hire orientations and onboarding meetings, including benefits orientation.
  • Manages the benefits email in-box and responds timely to inquiries and/or forwards to the appropriate benefits personnel for resolution.
  • Responsible for administering all aspects of the University's tuition assistance programs, including tuition remission and tuition scholarships.
  • Prepares tuition budget reports for the Office of Financial Affairs.
  • Coordinates employee information sessions with outside vendors.
  • Audits and submits for processing of insurance carrier billing/invoices
  • Processes benefits-related enrollments, changes, and terminations in the University's Human Resources Information System (Banner) and third party vendors where applicable.
  • In partnership with the Benefits Manager, oversees COBRA through third party administrator.
  • Works with providers and third-party administrators to resolve questions, problems and claims issues and work to ensure quality service.
  • Assists with the planning and oversight of the annual open enrollment period.
  • Assists with maintaining and updating content on benefits website and benefits communication portal for benefits education.
  • Serves as a back-up for the Reception area, as needed.
  • Performs other Benefits/HR projects as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of related working experience, preferably in the area of Benefits Administration.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent presentation, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Technical proficiency in one or more HR Information Systems (Ellucian Banner preferred).
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Word and Excel.
