Job Description:

A New York City healthcare organization is currently seeking a new Benefits Analyst to join their team in Brooklyn. In this role, the Benefits Analyst will be responsible for assisting and administering benefits policies and plans in accordance with hospital policy, plan provisions and government regulations. Responsibilities: The Benefits Analyst will:

  • Extract and upload monthly wage data for 1199 and NYSNA union employees benefits purpose.
  • Ensure timely submission of wage data by the 8th of each month.
  • Prepare and process monthly invoices for unions.
  • Perform reconciliation and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Coordinate with the Finance department for wire payments.
  • Handle detailed wage calculations, including status changes, new hires, terminations, and annual contribution rate adjustments.
  • Ensure accurate data reporting through secure FTP uploads.
  • Review eligibility and coverage/reports for benefit providers
  • Ensure accurate invoice processing and secure payment approvals.
  • Audit and process invoices for retiree benefits, including NYSNA VEBA, United HealthCare, Lucent Health Solutions, and Elixir
  • Ensure timely payment and adherence to plan requirements.
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience working for an Insurance company and/or a company's Benefits Department
  • Demonstrated experience in benefits billing, benefits customer service and day to day benefits processing
  • Expertise in PeopleSoft HR, specifically in day to day Benefits Administration Processing
  • Proficient in handling health and welfare-related benefits customer service
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Computer savvy
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficient
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong background in working with union/hospital employees and managing related benefits/wage data
