Job Description:

The benefits analyst provides support to the Human Resources Department and assists with benefits coordination. This position carries out responsibilities in one or more functional areas, such as benefits, team member communication, document compliance, and HR related administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct benefit orientations to ensure new team members are informed about available benefit options.
  • Oversee the on-boarding and off-boarding process for team members regarding benefit plans.
  • Participate in salary and benefit surveys; update job-specific market data annually.
  • Audit monthly benefit bill statements, identify discrepancies, and reconcile them.
  • Manage benefit support tickets through the HR ticketing system; respond to and assist with team member benefit-related inquiries.
  • Process funding requests for self-funded plans and manage monthly vendor statements.
  • Coordinate personal and FMLA leave of absences; manage disability/ADA leave requests.
  • Maintain and adjust paid time off balances within the HRIS.
  • Process medical support orders and tuition reimbursement requests.
  • Collaborate with management, HR stakeholders, and others to develop and communicate compensation and benefit programs.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of programs, recommending modifications to reduce costs and enhance program efficiency.
  • Assist with communication and coordination of the annual Open Enrollment period, including materials preparation.
  • Utilize HRIS software (UKG/Kronos preferred) to manage data and processes in relation to benefits and compensation.
  • Oversee wellness initiatives and promote employee engagement.
  • Organize and conduct employee meetings to facilitate enrollment and other benefit-related sessions.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is required; an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline; in the absence of a degree, directly-related job experience serving in an Total Rewards role, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement.

Required Skills

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to maintain strict levels of confidentiality
  • 2-4 years of Human Resources, particularly benefit and compensation experience preferred
  • Overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, drug screen and E-verify
