Job Description:
Kavaliro is seeking a dynamic Benefits Consultant for our client. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in maintaining client relationships and managing their existing portfolios. Your responsibilities will include developing comprehensive benefit strategies, conducting financial analyses, designing benefit plans, overseeing renewals, and ensuring top-notch service delivery. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop innovative benefit design and renewal strategies to address complex client needs.
  • Collaborate closely with account management or client service teams on pre-renewal strategies, RFP distribution, open enrollment plans, and post-renewal analyses.
  • Determine the full range of services to be provided to each client.
  • Establish and communicate clear timelines with client service teams, keeping them informed of any changes or updates.
  • Maintain accountability for revenue and profitability of client accounts and projects, ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Monitor project success in terms of scope, budget, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new clients, working collaboratively with client service teams to establish implementation plans, teams, and timelines.
  • Ensure that client service teams exceed client expectations.
  • Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities to expand our business portfolio.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and carriers.
  • Establish effective relationships with carriers/vendors to facilitate benefits procurement and administration.
  • Attend carrier events to stay updated on carrier plans, changes, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of insurance markets, funding alternatives, networks, and benefit plan options.
  • Ensure accuracy of client data in CRM systems.
  • Remain fully knowledgeable about compliance issues impacting employer-sponsored health and welfare plans such as HIPAA, ERISA, Tax Code SEC 125, PPACA, and state-sponsored health insurance exchanges.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Capacity to manage workload efficiently.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
  • 3+ years' experience in benefits consulting.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Health Care Reform and health and ancillary insurance products.
  • Practical understanding of quoting processes and tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with database applications.
  • Valid life and health insurance license required.
