Manages all U.S. based benefit plans, administrator of the 401(k)-retirement plan, ancillary benefits plans, workers compensation, EAP and evaluation of other potential employee benefits. Ensures legal compliance of all company benefits programs. This is an on-site position.Job Responsibilities:Assesses and provides recommendations to the executive staff on the strategic direction of the U.S. based benefit plans using an in-depth knowledge of product offerings, industry and regulatory trends, culture and business environment. Must present quarterly updates/analysis to the executive staff at each of the US locations.Manages and analyzes a multi-million dollar self-insured medical and dental plan budget by identifying cost saving opportunities through utilization analysis and plan design reviews.Evaluates and manages other benefit plans such as short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and health savings accountsPlan Administrator of the 401(k) retirement plan to include compliance testing, employee education, coordinating annual plan audit and acts as chairperson for the Gleason Corporation Retirement Committee.Responsible for selecting and interfacing with benefit plan administrators, benefit consultants, brokers and legal counselAudit all benefit plans thoroughly and at a regular, consistent cadence. Reviews audit results with executive management at quarterly review meetings.Investigates and resolves discrepancies in non-routine situations with insurance administrators, attorneys, brokers and consultantsAdministers Workers' Compensation program, working closely with EH&S Mgr. and Corp. Risk Management, along with local HR support at other US locations.Manages disability programs and associated leaves such as, FMLA, NYPFL, Short-term disability and the required interactive process. Professionally handles requests for Reasonable Accommodations as needed.Working with Corporate HR leadership, reviews the medical plan design on a yearly basis and offers suggestions to maintain a balance between employee benefits and financial considerations.Responsible for the configuration of the Benefits feature in the Human Capital Management (HCM) system, including Payroll Integration Setup, Enrollments, Plans and Options, Enrollment Events, Templates, Plan Carriers, Plan Groups, and Eligibility Rules and Qualifiers. Must also troubleshoot issues, make corrections, and export data from the HCM.Creates the open enrollment presentations and communicates accordingly. Identifies and suggests implementation methodologies for ongoing process improvements for all benefitsManages and ensures the design of all company-sponsored plans and any recommended plan changes are in compliance with all laws and regulations.Determines the qualified status and compliance of all Qualified Domestic Relations Orders and Qualified Medical Child Support Orders as they relate to the benefit plans. This includes creating and maintaining procedures and interfacing with employees, attorneys, and carriersParticipates in New Hire Orientation to educate employees on benefit offeringsProvides benefit support to HR partners at all US facilities.Serves as the payroll processing backup for the US.Leads Human Resource initiatives/projects as required.Supports the Corporate HR function on various benefit integration and cost savings initiatives Participates in local or industry specific benefit-related surveys, analyzes results and develops recommendations for management review.Participates in professional groups to stay current with best practices, benchmarking and competitive offerings.Attends educational workshops, webinars, and trainings to maintain professional/technical knowledge.Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):Preferred Education/Training/ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field and a minimum 5-years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.Strong Benefits Management ability; experience with self-insured benefits plans helpful2 years of experience configuring all details of the HCM Benefit Feature (Ceridian Dayforce experience preferred).Payroll processing experience preferred.Proficiency with business data management systems and Microsoft Office SuiteEffective verbal/written communication and presentation skills required.Computer SkillsMicrosoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)HCM; experience with Ceridian Dayforce helpfulProfessional Certificates, Licenses or Registrations:Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) desiredTravel Requirements:Up to 10%.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that would need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job in an office environment.
