Benefits Manager
Location: Charlotte
Schedule: Hybrid
Compensation: Up to $125k plus bonus opportunity
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Benefits Manager to oversee and enhance the organization's employee benefits programs. This role will be responsible for managing health and wellness plans, retirement options, leave policies, and other benefits to ensure alignment with company goals and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate is both analytical and people-focused, ensuring employees receive a best-in-class experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Administration
- Manage and administer all employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, disability, life insurance, and wellness initiatives.
- Oversee annual open enrollment processes, including communication strategies, employee support, and compliance.
Compliance & Regulations
- Ensure all benefits programs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare necessary compliance documentation.
Employee Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Develop and deliver training sessions, FAQs, and guides to educate employees about available benefits.
Vendor Management
- Partner with external vendors to evaluate, negotiate, and implement new benefits offerings or improve current plans.
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure adherence to agreed-upon service levels.
Strategic Planning
- Conduct benchmarking and market analysis to ensure competitive offerings.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to design and recommend enhancements to benefits programs that align with business objectives.
Data Management & Reporting
- Analyze benefits utilization and trends to provide actionable insights and cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare regular reports on program performance and employee satisfaction metrics.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 5+ years of experience managing benefits programs, preferably within a mid to large-sized organization.
Skills & Knowledge
- Deep understanding of benefits administration, compliance, and market trends.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS and benefits management systems.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive strategic decisions.
