Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Benefits Specialist to join our team and take ownership of benefits administration for a growing company with approximately 300 employees across multiple states. As the sole benefits professional, you will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of employee benefits, ensuring compliance with regulations, and serving as the subject matter expert for the organization.
Primary Functions:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees with benefits-related questions or issues, providing clear and timely responses to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Handle benefits changes related to qualifying life events, such as marriage, birth, or divorce, and ensure timely updates to employee benefits.
- Manage the benefits enrollment process for new hires, ensuring all paperwork and systems are completed accurately and on time.
- Act as the subject matter expert on employee benefits, particularly in Ceridian Dayforce software, to ensure accurate and efficient benefits administration.
- Maintain regular communication with benefits carriers to ensure smooth processing of employee benefits. Address and resolve file feed issues promptly.
- Administer and manage the company's 401(k) enrollment process, providing guidance to employees on plan options and ensuring all records are accurately maintained.
Skills & Knowledge:
- 3-5+ years of experience in benefits management or a related HR role.
- Prior experience with Ceridian Dayforce software is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of benefits-related laws and regulations, such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and FMLA.
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, wellness initiatives, and flexible spending accounts.
