Job Title: Benefits Verification CoordinatorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Benefits Verification Coordinator who will provide high-quality customer service to patients and prescribers while protecting patient confidentiality. The role involves verifying prescription information, usinginternal pharmacy management software, and performing patient-level benefits verifications. The coordinator will also complete prior authorization templates, evaluate prior authorizations for compliance and reimbursement, and communicate with patients, prescribers, and insurance companies as necessary.Responsibilities+ Provide high-quality customer service to patients and prescribers while maintaining patient confidentiality.+ Verify information on prescriptions received prior to processing, including prescriber details, patient information, medication, dose, quantity, and number of refills.+ Perform patient-level benefits verifications for all pharmacy benefits plans.+ Complete prior authorization templates per payer requirements to ensure medication orders are covered by insurance plans.+ Evaluate completed prior authorizations to ensure appropriate information is obtained for reimbursement and compliance.+ Process prior authorization responses via CoverMyMeds and submit appeals if requested by the patient or prescriber.+ Communicate with patients to determine general health status, medication compliance, and overall coordination of care.+ Make outbound calls to prescribers, patients, and insurance companies.+ Assist with inbound calls as needed for respective programs.+ Follow up on outstanding prior authorizations/orders while adhering to program-specific correspondence.+ Adhere to program-specific rules and timelines when processing orders.+ Prepare and maintain patient profiles, medication administration records, and other documents as needed for order shipment.Essential Skills+ Insurance verification+ Healthcare+ Medical billing+ Prior authorization+ Data entry+ Pharmacy technician license+ Insurance benefits+ Benefits verification+ Call center customer service+ High School diploma or equivalent+ Two years of experience providing customer service to internal and external customers+ Registered and licensed pharmacy technician by the Kentucky and/or Indiana Board of Pharmacy or ability to obtain license during onboardingAdditional Skills & Qualifications+ 6 months of customer service experience+ Payer benefits experience with reimbursement and prior authorizations+ Healthcare industry experience+ Advance knowledge of medical terminology, brand and generic names of medications, and general pharmacy terminology+ Nationally certified through the PTCB or another approved certifying agency+ Experience with HIPAA and patient services+ Knowledge of insurance proceduresWork EnvironmentThis position will be based inside an office environment. The role involves regular use of internal pharmacy management software and requires interaction with patients, prescribers, and insurance companies via phone.
