NOTICE OF MISCELLANEOUS VACANCY POSITION: LUNCHROOM MONITOR LOCATION: Beach Elementary School JOB SUMMARY: This is a part-time miscellaneous position working in the school lunchroom in an elementary school.?? This position requires monitoring students from the time they enter the lunchroom until they leave.? Position requires significant periods of standing and walking and is performed in a typical school environment.? Employees are required to think, concentrate, and interact with others.? Employees are expected to come to work regularly and promptly. Employees must be able to work under stress and meet all deadlines. Incumbent receives general direction and evaluation from Principal, Vice Principal, or designee. REPORTS TO: Principal, Vice Principal, or Designee. Knowledge of student behavior as applied to children. Ability to work effectively with children. Ability to supervise student behavior, maintain discipline, and to perform general lunchroom duties. Demonstrated success in accomplishing tasks akin to those responsibilities listed below. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors students and assures proper student conduct in the lunchroom. Communicates with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner, utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills. Organizes students into orderly lines for the purchase of lunch, milk, or snacks. Circulates throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten, assisting students as needed. Assists with the cleanliness of the cafeteria. Dismisses classes in an orderly manner at the scheduled time. Encourages good table manners. Participates in training sessions and meetings as scheduled. Thinks, concentrates, and interacts positively with others. Comes to work regularly and promptly. Works under stress and meets deadlines.? Performs related work as required or assigned by the Principal, Vice Principal, or designee. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires moderate physical effort, including standing for extended periods of time. UNUSUAL DEMANDS: May be subject to a flexible work schedule. FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 180 days/year (student days only), 2.5 hrs. per day, mid-day; rate of pay: $15.00/hr.
