At LEEP our educators use effective instructional techniques to provide a high-quality dual language program, located in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. About the RoleThe Lead Teacher is a dedicated and goal-oriented professional who develops and provides engaging and rigorous instruction. This individual regularly evaluates student progress to drive academic progress. Position Responsibilities
  • Executes the mission of LEEP Dual Language Academy.
  • Believes that every child can and will achieve high academic standards, and provides consistent support to our students no matter how challenging the individual situation may be.
  • Consistently reflects on self, as well as instructional practices, to achieve these academic goals.
  • Invest several hours per week in professional learning, including personalized instructional coaching, lesson study, co-planning, book study groups and other learning work.
  • Plans student learning and individual achievements based on long and short-term goals, and program objectives.
  • Analyze assessment data and use it to inform and differentiate your instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student mastery of standards.
  • Maintain close relationships with families, including phone calls and conferences.
  • Selects and uses effective instructional methods and learning materials.
  • Establishes a cooperative relationship with all assigned students.
  • Manages the classroom in a positive manner and keeps students on task through the use of Responsive Classroom practices.
  • Attends, participates, and facilitates team meetings and professional development opportunities, as well as common planning times.
  • Prepares, administers, and reviews all required student assessments.
  • Meets regular and predictable attendance requirements.
  • Performs other duties, as deemed appropriate by the Principal.
  • Some weekends and evenings are required.

Compensation & BenefitsThe starting compensation for this role is between $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year. The starting salary will depend on multiple factors including professional experience, education, and certifications. This role is a full-time position.Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1-3 years of elementary teaching experience.
  • Valid NYS Teaching Certification or currently on the pathway to certification required.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish languages.
  • Firm commitment to student academic progress.
  • Motivation to work as part of a team and possess a strong sense of personal responsibility.
  • Ability and desire to receive and implement feedback from the leadership team and colleagues to drive professional growth.
