A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.Job Summary:As a Sr Relationship Manager ( Sr.RM ) for Financial Institutions Group FIG , he/she is responsible for the management of business development activities associated with a group of Japanese corporate account relationships and prospects with the primary goal being the creation of revenue opportunities with such clients in order to achieve the objectives of the Bank and the Division. The Sr RM, who is mainly responsible for FIG credit and deposit clients, maintains and develops relationships with existing and prospective clients for the purpose of providing overall banking services and cross-selling MUFG's products while managing the credit risk exposure to the client under collaboration with other members of JCB as well as other Divisions/Departments of the Bank.Major Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary Relationship Manager for the financial institutions group. Develop, maintain, and work to broaden and deepen close business relationship with existing clients as well as cultivate business with prospect customers. Collaborate with members of Portfolio Management, Client Services, Product Offices, and RMs of Japanese Primary Offices and other relevant parties in providing high quality overall banking services to the clients. Maintain regular calling effort with key members of the client and report to Management all important dialogues. Advise clients, where possible, concerning business management and financial matters.
  • Take ownership in developing structured solutions, tailored for the customer to maximize FIG sector penetration and returns as well as delivers activities in instituting cross-selling initiatives to clients across all areas of the bank and transitioning them into significant sales in collaboration with Product Office members by proactively identifying transaction opportunities. Collaborate with internal product team, counsel and other groups to effectively structure such solutions that provide value to the clients and represent MUFG's competitive advantages.
  • Lead the financial institutions coverage team, demonstrating strong leadership to achieve business objectives. Provide oversight and continuous skill development for team members to build an effective team.
  • Perform and coordinate other duties and projects as assigned by Department Head or Team Manager
  • Maintain awareness of evolving market trends, regulatory changes to proactively identify new opportunities and share the knowledge within the bank organization.
  • Ensure adherence to all bank policies and procedures relative to Regulatory Compliance including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, Know Your Customers (KYC), Suspicious Activity Reports (SARS), Currency and Transaction Reporting (CTR) and etc. (5%)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in finance, with a strong background in structured finance, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including excellent business writing, editing, and proofreading skills in both English and Japanese is required.
  • Knowledge of domestic and foreign financial markets and products, including non-banking financial institutions, is preferred.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $143K - $217K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
