(100% Remote) Contract Closeout Specialist | $39 - $43/hr Job Description The primary responsibilities for this role include performing billing activities for customers and various program personnel. The selected candidate will maintain the integrity of the billing system and use financial and accounting procedures to resolve complex problems.

- Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of complex accounting and accounting control procedures including billing operations to maximize effectiveness and accuracy.
- Audit the accuracy of billing information entered in the system and monitor the operation of the billing systems.
- Create, research, and analyze billing data.
- Submit timely invoices to clients in accordance with client agreements.
- Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors, and clients, providing technical advice to resolve complex billing discrepancies.
- Recommend, develop, and maintain financial databases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems.
- Develop and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Interface with internal and external auditors to complete audits.
- Coordinate with the Collections Department for all aged invoices.
- Stay informed about new developments in financial accounting and government regulations, informing management of changes and providing recommendations for implementation.
- Comply with all applicable accounting and governmental regulations.
- Provide guidance to less experienced Billing Operations Analysts.
- Prepare canceling funds and final invoices as needed.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications - 6 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 4 years relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
- Experience working with Government Billing practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications including Costpoint.
- Ability to understand and solve billing and collections problems effectively.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
Work Environment The work schedule is Monday to Friday during normal business hours, following East Coast hours. Candidates can work remotely; however, those living in Northern Virginia or Virginia Beach are required to work in a hybrid capacity once a week. The team consists of a manager and three billing analysts, with the larger billing team encompassing around 30 individuals.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.26 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
