Licking County Alcohol Prevention Program is seeking a Billing Assistant to join our team. The Billing Assistant will perform billing functions such as: insurance verification and conduct pre-authorizations with payer sources, enrolling in billing software and other funding sources, manage self-pay and follow-up with outstanding collection on accounts, and duties of an office receptionist as needed.
Over the years the agency has developed a significant number of new and innovative programs in the community including, but not limited to, the Step One Program at the Licking County Justice Center, the Options 72 Hour Driver Intervention Program, a comprehensive gender-specific women's program that was the first in the county, some of the first prevention programs in the county, an intensive outpatient program, employee assistance programs (EAP), Department of Transportation services, drug-free workplace programs and training for other organizations, the first youth treatment program in the county and other similar services.

As the Billing Assistant, you will be uniquely situated to support not only our staff, but our clients as well. When working with our clients, you greet them upon arrival, check them in for their appointments, and review their account status with them.
When new clients are registered, the Billing Assistant will assist by assisting the intake process with team members, recording all necessary information and verifying financial information. This process also includes assisting the new clients enrollment of Medicaid or community board funding if applicable and explaining fee plans.

To be qualified for this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent with a strong desire to grow into the role.
A successful applicant will:
1 year or more of experience or training in a healthcare setting and with medical records, medical billing, and medical coding are preferred.
