Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, Community Health Center's Billing Department and play a vital role in accounts receivable management, payment posting, and resolution of billing issues. Responsibilities
- Post payments from insurance companies, patients, and third-party payers into patient accounts.
- Reconcile payments in the company's operating account with posted payments in NextGen.
- Balance assigned payment batches and ensure timely posting in NextGen.
- Resolve payment issues, analyze claim adjustments, and execute rebills as needed.
- Perform rejection and denial scrubbing, rebilling claims, and contacting insurance companies.
- Assist the Billing Supervisor with month-end close processes, reporting, and audits.
- Monitor and analyze billing trends to recommend process improvements.
- Be part of a team that ensures efficient billing operations that support our mission to deliver high-quality healthcare services to our community.
- Address payment batch issues and collaborate with management for resolution.
- Apply necessary adjustments to claims, including zero payments and modifiers.
- Support compliance with coding and billing regulations, including ICD and CPT codes.
- Maintain a professional work environment adhering to absenteeism and appearance policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, associate or bachelor's degree
- 2-3 years work experience within a billing environment
- Experience with NextGEN EPM and E.H.R
- MS Office proficiency
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of current coding and billing regulations
