The Billing/Collections Specialist III functions as the lead position over other billing/collection specialists. - Knowledge of the medical billing and collections revenue cycle and ability to recognize data trends and recommend adjustments and implement appropriate changes to our processes.
- Knowledge of insurance and medical billing.
- Knowledge of coding for claims and coding certification.
- Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security.
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to solve problems and work with a team.
- Ability to align tasks and responsibilities with appropriate team members.
- Efficient with MicroSoft Office Programs, specifically Excel.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Professional Coding Certification.
- Five (5) years or more experience: medical billing and coding, insurance claims processing, electronic health records ( EHR / EPM ).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Allscripts and/or EPIC system billing experience.
