Job Summary: The Billing Coordinator is responsible for accurately entering and updating billing information into a CLS Health database or billing system. The primary responsibility is to ensure that all billing data is entered correctly and efficiently into the billing system, enabling timely and accurate processing of healthcare claims. This role supports the revenue cycle management team and plays a crucial role in optimizing the billing and collections process. Responsibilities:
- Process and manage all medical billing for healthcare services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payer policies and regulations.
- Input detailed billing codes (CPT, ICD-10, etc.) for healthcare services rendered.
- Ensure all billing practices adhere to industry regulations, including HIPAA, and CLS Health's internal policies and procedures.
- Generate regular billing and accounts receivable reports for the Billing Manager and senior leadership, tracking outstanding balances and payment trends.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date billing records and documentation.
- Answer incoming phone calls related to billing inquiries from patients, providers, and insurance companies.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Work closely with other departments, including clinical teams and customer service, to ensure smooth billing processes and address any patient-related billing issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years medical billing experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to type 30 wpm
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and payer requirements.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) for reporting and data management.
- Physical Requirements: Comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
