Responsibilities:

  • Managing and supervising the daily operations of the billing department, ensuring smooth workflow and timely submission of medical claims.
  • Ensuring accurate coding of medical procedures and diagnoses according to established coding guidelines to comply with regulatory requirements and maximize reimbursement.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to optimize revenue cycle processes, including claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and appeals.
  • Overseeing the utilization and maintenance of billing software systems, ensuring data accuracy, security, and efficient utilization of system functionalities.
  • Collaborating with insurance companies and payers to resolve claim issues, negotiate contracts, and stay updated on reimbursement policies and procedures.
  • Conducting internal audits to ensure adherence to billing and coding guidelines, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Generating and analyzing financial reports related to billing activities, revenue trends, accounts receivable, and key performance indicators to monitor the financial health of the organization.
  • Identifying opportunities for process enhancements and streamlining to increase efficiency, accuracy, and revenue generation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in healthcare administration, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare billing, authorizations and coding is essential. Home care billing experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of billing processes, including understanding of payer policies specific to home care services, Medicaid, Medicare,
  • and private insurance requirements, is crucial for accurate claim submission and compliance.
  • Medical Coding Expertise: Proficiency in medical coding systems specifically related to home care services, is important for proper coding and documentation of services provided.
  • Experience and proficiency in revenue cycle management processes, including verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, managing claims denials, and pursuing timely payments.
  • Proficiency in using billing software systems specific to home care services, electronic health records (EHR), and other healthcare technology tools.
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are valuable for identifying trends, resolving billing issues, and implementing process improvements to optimize revenue generation in the home care setting.
  • Staying updated with changes in healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and payer policies related to home care services through continuous learning and professional development is important for maintaining compliance and enhancing performance.
