About the Team:

Billing Operations Analyst to assist in financial activities for Medidata Solutions, including billing operations, invoicing and cash collections. To ensure success in this role, the candidate must be diligent, detail-oriented, and willing to adapt. This role is critical to the success of the finance organization and its assistance in evaluating contract language, ensuring the accuracy of billing schedules, and accountable customer-facing communication on behalf of Medidata Solutions.

Responsibilities:

* Implement billing operations to maximize effectiveness and accuracy.

* Audit the accuracy of billing information entered in the system and monitor the operation of the billing systems.

* Develop solutions to billing issues and work with systems design to implement new features.

* Review contracts to ensure billing accuracy within the accounting system

* Review/validate legacy data to ensure accuracy

* Research and resolve discrepancies

* Perform manual adjustments to correct billing errors in system

* Manually create/adjust/update billing and revenue forecasts

* Provide billing-related reporting to internal and external customers

* Perform research to resolve both internal and external customer questions regarding invoicing and other contract-related questions

* Maintain a high level of focus on customer service and ensure responsiveness to inquiries

* Help with monthly and quarterly accounting procedures

* Support contract financial performance tracking for all GTM Segments being a trusted finance partner for both internal/external partners.

* Areas of support include commercial finance, data entry, accounting support and reporting

* Help ensure billing/usage information is entered within the systems used for tracking

* Provide billing/usage related reporting to all partners

* Complete monthly pro forma invoicing process for key contracts and customers

* Perform research to resolve both internal and external customer inquiries regarding invoicing/usage, AR AP reconciliations, and other contract-related questions

Qualifications:

* Proficient with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel, required

* Previous billing experience helpful

* Bachelor's Degree in related field is required

* Outstanding customer service and service orientation

* Strong attention to detail

* Experience working in Salesforce and/or Workday

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.

* Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demands

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $64,800 - $88,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
