Billing SpecialistDover, NJ, USAReq #10877Friday, May 17, 2024Welcome to Zufall Health!Position SummaryReporting to the Billing Claims Manager, the Billing Specialist is responsible for collecting, posting, and managing account payments, submitting claims, and following up with insurance companies.Essential Functions, Duties, and ResponsibilitiesPrepares and submits clean claims to various insurance companiesAnswers questions from patients, clerical staff, and insurance companiesPreauthorization s for proceduresReviews accounts for possible assignment and makes recommendations to the Director of billingConducts self in accordance with ZHC s employee handbookMaintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulationsPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of medical billing/collection practicesKnowledge of computer programsKnowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practicesAbility to operate a computer and basic office equipmentSkill in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful mannerAbility to read, understand and follow oral and written instructionsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the publicLearn and apply the trauma informed care principles with the scope of the positionMust be well organized and detail orientedEducation, Training, and ExperienceAssociate degree in related fieldMinimum two years experience in a community health settingTwo years experience as a medical billing specialistExperience working with community service agenciesKnowledge of Microsoft Office, keyboarding, and use of electronic medical recordsAs a condition of employment, we require that all staff are fully vaccinated against flu.
