Job Description:

New York Plastic Surgical Group is looking for a full-time Billing Specialist to join our Garden City office. LOCATION: Garden City/Remote. HYBRID SCHEDULE *Training is in the Garden City office for approximately 3 months*Why Choose New York Plastic Surgical Group:

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:
  • Insurance verification for all patient encounters
  • Update patient demographics and insurance information into Nextech
  • Create TODO's for claims over 10K or any Emergency Claim to ensure timely claim tracking
  • Send Non-Par Letters to new patients seen by the practice (hospital or office)
  • Analyzing all operative reports and accurately abstract information for coding purposes
  • Responsible for updating EMR and Scheduled Not Billed Report to ensure timely claim submission.
  • Complete all workers compensation and no-fault forms
  • Review and run charge entry reports daily for accuracy
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or be studying for the certification exam.
  • College degree preferred, but not required.
  • 3+ plus years of medical billing experience for surgical procedures
  • Must have working knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT Codes
  • Knowledge of Medical Coding
  • Efficient in analyzing an operative report.
