Job DetailsJob Location Mary L Duffie Building Corporate - West Columbia, SC DescriptionGeneral Purpose: The Billing Specialist shall be responsible for collecting and reporting data as it relates to Babcock Center's revenue generating streams in compliance with applicable oversight directives and regulations. Job Duties:
  • Locate opportunities for process improvements designed to increase revenue.
  • Evaluate and compare expected vs. actual service receipts.
  • Identify trends and changes that may be indicative of deviations or errors.
  • Produce detailed reports regarding revenue variances and/or trends for review and follow up.
  • Ensure documentation in Therap and/or other systems is sufficient to support the billed services.
  • Assist with providing data and preparing applications for grant opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree or 2 years relevant experience.
  • Advanced computer skills to include proficient use of Microsoft Excel to include Vlookup, Conditional formatting, Pivot Tables and Reporting, and Data tables.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem identification and solving.
  • Ability to work productively as a team member with all levels of staff.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, draft, and edit professional/business correspondence.
  • Self-motivated and independent worker with high degree of professionalism.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years auditing experience.
  • Experience in DDSN Provider/Funded Organizations.
  • Grant writing experience.
Working Conditions: The Billing Specialist is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, primarily between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. Flexibility and after hours may be an option, depending on schedule demands and business needs. Supervision: The direct supervisor for the Billing Specialist is the Supervisor, Billing and Payroll under the direction of the Senior Director of Finance. Typical Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines. Must have normal range of hearing and vision. Must have normal range of hearing and vision. Daily driving in Richland and Lexington Counties. Typical Mental Demands: Must be able to deal with stress associated with fast-paced work environment and multi-tasking. Formulate decisions and act upon them. Adapt to changing work situations. Grasp and apply new ideas. Communication with various personalities at all levels. Hazards/Potential Hazards: Cleaning chemicals, ergonomic hazards: static postures, repetitive motion, trip hazards such as file drawers and electrical wires video display terminals.
