Who we're looking for: This individual is responsible for assisting with the invoicing for assigned funding sources, coordinating authorizations for payment and work with clinical staff to ensure proper authorizations and paperwork for invoicing. Must have experience with third party insurance invoicing. Additionally, this individual is responsible for follow-up calls when payment is not received. Other fiscal duties as assigned by the Director of Finance. Work is performed with considerable independence in accordance with established regulations, policies, and procedures. Work is reviewed and supervised by the Accounts Receivable Supervisor. ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities in this role may include:
Submits insurance claims to clearinghouse or individual insurance companies electronically or via paper CMS-1500 form. Follows up with insurance company on unpaid or rejected claims. Resolves issue and re-submits claims. Prepares patient statements for charges not covered by insurance. Insures statements are mailed on a regular basis. Posts insurance and patient payments using medical claim billing software. For patients with coverage by more than one insurer, prepares and submits secondary claims upon processing by primary insurer. Understands managed care authorizations and limits to coverage such as the number of visits. This is encountered often when billing for specialties.
