The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Specialist to join our team. The Billing Specialist is responsible for processing payments, maintaining organized financial records, and calculating bill totals. Our ideal candidate is hardworking, pays attention to detail, and has an understanding of the billing process and procedures. This is an opportunity for a long term position and to join a growing company.

Responsibilities

* Prepare invoices for services performed as well as the delivery and shipments of goods.

* Prepare credit invoices where applicable.

* E-billing in customer portals.

* Research and resolve all issues for invoices submitted in the customer portals.

* Perform various activities to support the accounting team.

* Research and resolve potential billing issues prior to invoice submission.

* Follow internal billing procedures for all tasks assigned.

* Work with the field service managers and technicians to generate timely and accurate invoices.

* A liaison with the collections department regarding invoice discrepancies.

* Ensure billing deadlines are met.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* 2-3 years of billing experience; Time & Material billing a plus.

* Proficient in Excel and MS Office; experience with Sage 300 a plus.

* Experience in the billing service and/or petroleum industry a plus.

* Ability to build rapports with coworkers within different departments.

* Written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work both independently and as a team member.

* Quick learner who is capable/willing to learn new information in a high-volume environment that is constantly changing.

* Detailed orientated.
