Accounting Analyst
Responsible for all aspects of payroll, headcount analysis, and payroll general ledger. This role partners with General Managers and business partners on budgeting and forecasting, along with ad hoc analysis such as optimal rooms expense and weekly/monthly revenue analysis. Position Summary: Responsible for all aspects of payroll, headcount analysis, and payroll general ledger. This role partners with General Managers and business partners on budgeting and forecasting, along with ad hoc analysis such as optimal rooms expense and weekly/monthly revenue analysis. Additionally, this position supports accounting processes.
Essential Functions - Manage the payroll process by ensuring discussions take place to assist with managers time approval. This includes proper cut off procedures, correct deductions and payment, and 401k payment processing
- Manage the headcount expenses by department to benchmark against internal and external comps
- Assist Finance team with P&L analytics and insights
- Support the broader Accounting and Finance team with accounting processes such as bank reconciliations
- Model revenue for daily, monthly, and yearly average daily revenue and occupancy analysis for forecasting insights
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports along with analytical insights to increase awareness of sales and cost drivers
- Preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs
- Analyze aged receivables for collection risk
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts
- Leverage Microsoft Power BI and excel analytics to deep dive opportunities and risks for labor
- Follow all Suburban Inns Processes
- Undertake special projects requested by management
- Exhibit regular and recurrent attendance records
Position Requirements: Minimum Knowledge: Requires Excel financial modeling, analysis, PowerPoint and word processing. Good communication skills. Formal Education and Job-Related Experience: This position requires a minimum formal education of an associates degree or equivalent related experience
