Job Description:
Responsible for accurate demographic and insurance information to be obtained from patient, completing full registration in Athena for all patients. Responsible for scheduling and re-scheduling of patient appointments upon request and managing physician work schedule. Also responsible for collection of patient payments, charge entry of services after physician approval, editing claims prior to claims filing, balancing cash drawer, and follow up of claims that require corrections. Enters physician hospital charges into billing system in a timely manner. Employee must be acutely aware of patient confidentiality of medical information. Employee must treat patients and other staff members courteously at all times. Accurately processes all hospital reports in Athena workflows into correct patient accounts. Staff buckets must be completed in a timely manner, along with outstanding claims buckets and patient reschedule queues. Obtains pre-certification from various insurance companies for test procedures and surgeries as needed. Must be able to pass a Credit Check.
