Enter charges in a timely manner.File claims and manage audit trails daily.Process electronic remittance advice (ERAs), payments, and adjustments.Balance daily activity and prepare/send batch cover sheets to management and accounting.Ensure front office staff collects copays and balances due at the time of service by auditing patient financial data up to 2 days before visits.Review and manage delinquent insurance and patient balances.Address credit balances.Generate reports as requested by management or accounting.Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a billing or coding program preferred.Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing.Performance Requirements:Knowledge:
Understanding of the accounts receivable collection process.Familiarity with Red Flag rules.Knowledge of electronic health systems.Familiarity with ICD-9 and CPT codes.Awareness of organizational policies and procedures to complete billing tasks in compliance.Skills:
