The biological sciences instructor must develop, plan, and present organized lectures, laboratory activities, and out of class assignments in accordance with approved course outlines.Required QualificationsApplications are reviewed for minimum qualifications. In order to be considered, your application must clearly show you meet the minimum qualifications for this position.Education, Training, and Experience:Master of Science (M.S.) degree in a biological science field; OR a minimum of 27 graduate quarter hours in a biological science field.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must be able to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities.Preferred QualificationsPrefer teaching experience in a community college or university setting.Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsPhysical ability to stand for extended periods of time, to kneel, stoop, and lift lightweight objects. Sufficient arm, hand, and finger dexterity to operate laboratory equipment, and to handle chemicals and cultures. Requires normal hearing and speaking skills to communicate with staff and students. Requires visual acuity to read numbers, words, and operate lab equipment. Job duties require considerable standing; kneeling, stooping, and crouching plus lifting of light to medium weight (10-50 pounds). Work is performed indoors with potential for some exposure to lab chemicals.
