Summary
Under general supervision, work independently as an equipment specialist for repair and maintenance on electronic patient care equipment, including electrical safety testing, installation, calibration and routine maintenance.

License Requirements: N/A Certification Requirements: N/A Age Specific Care Provided For: N/A Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel Microsoft Outlook Meditech (if applicable to position) Epic (if applicable to position) Performance Manager/NetLearning Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Other Requirements: Knowledge of the priniciples and practices of Electronics or Biomedical Technoloy as applied to the calibration and repair of biomedical equipment and instrumentation with the abilities to perform schematic analysis, interpretation of equipment malfunctioning and soldering techniques. Ability to use a computer and appropriate data entry device to perform data entry satistical information into the departments database is required.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
* Education and Work Experience:
* Must possess a high school diploma or GED
* An associates degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering, Biomedical Engineering Technology equivalent, OEM service training or CBET credentials are accepted
* A minimum of five years experience in field service experience in performing maintenance on clinical medical equipment. Experience in the installation, testing and repair of such equipment.
* OEM training from Philips, Beckman, Amsco/Steris, Puritan Bennett or other major medical equipment suppliers.
