Position: Sr Biomedical Engineer, Req#: 1893-1

Location: Marlborough, MA (100% onsite only)

Shift Mon-Fri 8-5. We can make slight adjustments to working hours to accommodate for commute or personal commitments.

Duration: 3+ Months Contract

Job Description:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or closely related discipline or bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience in a technical Systems Discipline or High School degree and 8 years of experience in a technical discipline.
  • Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems

Top 3 must-haves:

  • Conduct tests on mechanical systems, including our Xcellerex XDR bioreactors, analyze results, and author reports.
  • Operate equipment using fundamental knowledge of best test and measurement practices, such as environmental testing, aging studies, data acquisition, tensile/load testing, general evaluation, and measurement diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing domain expertise to serve as the main integrator between the hardware and software functions to deliver the best high-quality product Working across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement the next generation of products Working with customers, Marketing and field personnel to refine requirements which can be refined by the engineering teams
  • Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on image quality Delivering and incorporating feedback results into new hardware, software and service specifications
  • Considered a specialist in a specific systems area or generalist in multiple system areas and recognized in their business unit.
  • Significant domain knowledge of department products and systems.
  • Serve as a system architect to plan, capture and manage requirements, analyze, design, test and document systems of moderate complexity and may lead to system integration.
  • Recommend new tools and techniques to achieve continuous improvement in systems development processes.
  • Decisions may have significant impact on cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Act as a mentor to engineers in additional areas including domain knowledge and lessons learned.
  • Lead preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Estimate, track, and report project costs and schedules while managing scope & risk.
  • May lead cross-functional / domain teams in a Project Engineering role.
  • Provide input to technical & product roadmaps.
  • Analysis - Seeks support and input from key team members before the start of an in-depth analysis of a problem.

  • The Systems Engineer (mid-level) has design responsibility to deliver workflow, feature functionality, product quality, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability, regulatory, compliance, and cost.
  • Activities include requirements development, traceability and flow down, architecture/system design and analysis, FMEA, developing/executing System Verification and Validation test procedures and providing support to manufacturing and field issues.
