New Haven biotech is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Research Associate, assisting in the development of therapeutics, vaccines, and diagnostics.
Job Description: The Research Associate participates in the research laboratory through technical and intellectual contributions. Works under the supervision of a scientist to design, conduct, and report on experiments that support the specific aims of various research programs.
Job Requirements:
· M.S. in Biological Sciences with over one year of experience in a life sciences laboratory, or B.S. with over two years of experience. Experience in molecular biology and/or immunological assays is advantageous, particularly ELISA, PCR, SDS-PAGE/Western blotting, and protein purification.
· Strong technical skills for conducting hands-on laboratory research, including immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, statistical analysis, and bacterial and mammalian cell culture techniques.
· Must be a self-motivated and excellent team player who collaborates well with others, exhibiting outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational, verbal, and written skills are essential.
· Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, a basic statistical program, and basic sequence analysis software.
· Ability to learn new tools and techniques while adapting to the demands of a start-up environment.
· Willingness to follow biosafety practices and procedures in a BSL2/2+ level laboratory, particularly when handling mouse and human samples that may be infected with pathogenic organisms, as well as when dealing with biohazardous materials.
· A minimum commitment of two years is required for this position.
