LaClare Creamery has all the ingredients to make your next job your best one! Are you a skilled, dependable cook looking for better work-life balance? LaClare Creamery is looking for a part time Bistro Prep Cook to join our fast paced, fun work environment! Our Bistro Prep Cook will assist in our caf operations and provide exceptional customer service! This is an hourly position that includes tips!

Hours between 10am - 4pm, approximately 15-20 hours per week. Must be able to work weekends and hours may vary depending on events. Our Retail Shop is open Sunday - Saturday with varying hours depending on the season.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Prepares and cooks to order a variety of foods and plates dishes in an attractive way to serve a quality product to our guests.
  • Works under the direct supervision of the Retail Manager
  • Prepares food for our customers made to order
  • Performs food preparation tasks, such as making sandwiches, carving meats and cheeses, making soups or salads, preparing breads or desserts, and brewing coffee, tea, or other drinks.
  • Grill, cook, prepare, and garnish foods such as eggs, French toast, roast beef, chicken, soups, salads, and cheese boards
  • Plans work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time
  • Clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables and ensures the kitchen is cleaned up to high store standards
  • Responsible for keeping accurate inventory of food items
  • Assists in washing dishes
  • Restocks kitchen supplies, rotates food, and stamps the time and date on food in coolers
  • May take orders from customers and serve patrons at counters or tables
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Attributes

  • Performs physical activities that require considerable amounts of standing, walking, lifting 5 25lbs, bending, and squatting while handling materials
  • Food Production Knowledge of techniques and equipment for food preparation and cooking including storage/handling techniques
  • Production and Processing Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of good
  • Customer and Personal Service Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge and understanding of Point of sale (POS) software
  • Active Listening Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Service Orientation Actively looking for ways to help people
  • Time Management Managing one's own time and the time of others
