What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic mathematical skills with the ability to use a digital scale
- Strong computer skills and the ability to utilize scanning equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and use visual acuity to identify varying colors and contaminants in blocs
What You'll Do as a Bloc Cutter
- Prepare the scale for use, following all company procedures
- Receive the next series of blocs to be cut from the supervisor
- Prepare the bloc area, scan barcodes for traceability, follow computer prompts for processes, stage the bloc to be cut, and verify that all requirements are met with identification, color, etc.
- Complete bloc traceability tickets per established procedures
- Cut and weigh bloc (clean the scale before use, verify the bloc, ensure quality, glue small pieces to achieve desired weight)
- Move the cut and approved bloc to the bloc buggy, placing it in the appropriate space
- Visually inspect all blocs for color and contamination, discarding unusable products per company processes
- Hollow grind new knives following strict policies and procedures
- Return buggies to designated areas
- Double-verify the last set of bloc on each buggy according to verification processes and requirements
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) applicable to the task being performed
- Maintain the highest possible cleanliness and orderliness standards in the assigned area (keep floors clean of debris, oil, grease, etc., ensure tools are in their designated locations, scrap appropriate bloc pieces, clean glue overflow, empty trash)
- Perform other tasks as assigned
