Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) – Bloomington is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our medical education mission beginning as early as January 1, 2025, in a full-time, dually-employed, clinical faculty appointment with the School and clinical employment with IU Health South Central Region.
The successful candidate is a practicing physician in any specialty, but with preference given to those in primary care, who has experience in leading medical education teams/projects, especially those related to the clinical education of medical students. Responsibilities will include serving as the Assistant Regional Campus Dean/Center Director, and managing the phase 2/3 (third and fourth year clinical) curriculum on the IUSM-Bloomington campus. They will report directly to the IUSM-Bloomington Associate Dean and Regional Director, with significant administrative exposure to the central IUSM Medical Student Education (MSE) unit. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will practice clinically (0.5 FTE) in the IU Health South Central Region in their specialty, however exceptions may be made for candidates with subspeciality clinical practices not possible in the South Central Region. Assist with operational needs at the IUSM- Bloomington campus, including collaboration around budget, marketing and development decisions, and executive level decision making around phase 2/3 curriculum implementation. Participate as a clinical preceptor in the phase 2-3 course(s).

· Terminal degree required. MD/DO/MBBS
· Candidates will be reviewed for all ranks within the Clinical Track; preference given to those who have achieved the rank of Associate Professor or Professor; or who have demonstrated achievement of the requirements for appointment at the Associate Professor level or above.
· Board certified/board eligible in their medical specialty required; Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Pediatrics preferred, but not required.
· An active, unrestricted Indiana Medical License, or the ability to obtain an unrestricted Indiana Medical License required.
· Demonstrated excellence in education and leadership as evidenced by at least three years leading a medical education team, curriculum or project, such as a clerkship, high-volume clinical elective, or medical education administrative role in Student Affairs, Faculty Affairs, or Medical Student Education Affairs.
· An advanced degree in education, health administration or related field, is desirable, but not required.
· Experience with, and a thorough understanding of clinical medical education.
