**Description**
**Job Summary**
The BMET II ensures that all types of clinical equipment are maintained and repaired by replacing defective components, aligning, and calibrating; maintains accurate and up-to-date records on all preventive and corrective maintenance accomplished; inspects all rented, borrowed, or demo medical equipment; may perform product evaluation on new equipment to be purchased. Generates reports, and audits database integrity. Provides ongoing instruction, training and leadership to junior members of the department.
**Minimum Qualifications**
**Education**
Associates degree in Bio-Medical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, computer science or equivalent military training required.
**Licensure/**
**Certification**
CPR certification within 6 months of hire.
**Experience**
A minimum of 2 years proven and acceptable experience in Bio-Medical equipment repair as a BMET I required.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
Ability to troubleshoot, calibrate and repair a variety of hospital technology, equipment and tools.
Working knowledge of algebra.
Ability to read and follow schematic diagrams.
Ability to distinguish and interpret different electronic symbols.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
Extensive knowledge of computers and technology used throughout a hospital including MS Office. Skilled at learning new software applications and technology rapidly.
