Job Description:

Experienced Board-Certified Anesthesiologists needed for St. Joseph Hospital, part of the Catholic Health system, a community based hospital located in Bethpage, NY.

Salary Range: $450,000-550,000K

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Practice a full spectrum of in and outpatient Anesthesia including, but not limited to Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Breast Surgery, Colon and Rectal, Urology, Neurosurgery, as well as other Oncology Surgical specialties.
  • Provider for all pre-operative anesthesia evaluations, intraoperative anesthesia management, and post-operative anesthesia assessments, and post-operative pain management for patients for the Hospital, involving general anesthesia monitored anesthesia care and regional anesthesia (including spinal anesthesia, epidural and other regional nerve blocks) delivered in connection with the procedures performed in the Hospital, whether in the pre-operative area, operating room or post-anesthesia care unit
  • Direct and supervise Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and assist them to effectively carry out those duties and responsibilities.
  • Participate equitably in the provision of on-call services in the Department.
  • Participate in the CH Graduate Medical Education Program (“GME”) and other academic programs affiliated with CH, by mentoring, supervising, and teaching residents, medical students, and other health care students (such as nursing and physician assistant students) who may be assigned for their clinical training experiences and rotations.
  • Coordinate with the nursing and surgical staff to ascertain that the daily operating room schedule runs efficiently.
  • Typical shift expectations include 40 hour work week and 4 overnights

  • MD/DO Full, active, and unrestricted license in NYS
  • Board-Certified Physicians and Fellowship trained with 5 or more years of experience preferred
  • Ability to manage CRNAs

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's education, training, skills, licensure and certification, competencies and other relevant experience. The salary range listed does not include any bonuses or incentive pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
