JOB SUMMARY
This position provides confidential, administrative, logistical, and organizational support to the Board of Commissioners (BOC), ensuring smooth operation of BOC meetings, compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws and regulations, and effective communication between BOC members and others. The Board Meetings Coordinator is responsible for supporting the BOC by organizing meetings, preparing agendas and meeting materials, and maintaining records as required by Oregon laws and regulations. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to maintain composure in challenging and emergency situations, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.

Hybrid work option:
The responsibilities of this position are such that the successful candidate may be able to perform some assignments remotely following Benton County's Telework Policy; however, a fully remote work environment is not an option. The initial training period will require a period of on-site presence to gain understanding of job expectation and responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AS22
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
* Associate's Degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, English, creative writing, public or business administration, or related field; AND
* 2 years of professional work experience providing complex administrative support in an office setting.
* Preference will be given to experience in meeting coordination supporting a board, commission or committee including agenda and meeting preparation.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
* Proven experience in a complex administrative role
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
* Experience with virtual meeting platforms (e.g. Zoom, Teams)
* The ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
* An understanding of local government operations
* Experience with WordPress

* $46,641.09 - $61,904.96
* This position is eligible for up to two salary raises within your first year. Annual performance-based increases are given until the maximum of the salary range is reached.
