The Body Shop Painter Help assists the lead painter in prepping vehicles and finishing vehicle surfaces according to dealership and factory standards, policies and specifications. **Responsibilities** Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following; other duties may be assigned.

* Promoting an understanding of, and strong commitment to client satisfaction.

* Promoting and understanding of, and strong commitment to the Mossy Team.

* Maintaining up to date technical knowledge sufficient to properly and efficiently complete painting assignments.

* Complying with all applicable company and legal requirements controlling vehicle repairs.

* Accurately evaluating nature and extent of work described on repair order; notifying estimator if portions of work are not necessary or additional materials or work are needed.

* Planning efficient work procedures for self and helper using technical manuals and knowledge of surface preparations and painting techniques; arranging to obtain timely delivery of paint and necessary materials.

* Performing quality paint application within time and material allowances and guidelines efficiently using appropriate/allocated tools; using protective supplies as appropriate to ensure cleanliness of vehicle.

* Ensuring quality of work by inspecting surfaces for defects.

* Following standard procedures, accurately recording labor hours and materials used to complete job.

* Operating lifting and moving devices to move materials and equipment and access areas to be painted.

* Cleaning, sanding, and applying chemical solutions to prepare and condition surfaces prior to painting.

* Masking and covering surfaces not to be painted; removing accessories such as chrome, mirrors and windshield wipers.

* Mixing and thinning paint or other coating to specified color and consistency according to standard formulas or color charts.

* Spraying specified amount or thickness of primer, protective, decorative, or finish coatings, such as paint, lacquer, sealer, or enamel, onto prepared surfaces, using spray equipment.

* Directing efficient work of helper as applicable

* Follow all Safety Rules & Regulations for position and department.

**Qualifications**

* Education and/or experience in paint repair.

* Understanding of Safety Rules & Practices as well as posted work rules & procedures.

* Great attitude with a high-energy personality

* Ability to read and comprehend instructions

* Ability to exercise good judgment

* Valid CA drivers license and good driving record

* A high school diploma or the equivalent
