Possess a New Jersey In-Charge Boiler License. 3. Knowledge In-Computer Operation for energy management system.RESPONSIBILITY: The Boiler Engineer is directly responsible to the Manager of Plant Facilities and, through him/her, to the Assistant Superintendent for Business/Board Secretary and the Superintendent of Schools. FUNCTION: The Boiler Engineer must be capable of functioning in the maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance of all makes of boilers within the school district.PERFORMANCE OF DUTIES:
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all district boilers.
  • Must possess the knowledge to perform daily inspection of all equipment related to heating and ventilation within the district.Must possess knowledge of installing coaxial or fitter cable for computers and telecommunications equipment.
  • Must have the capability to make repairs on equipment indicated: A. Electric controls B. Pneumatic equipment, blowers, fans, pumps, compressors, and burners
  • Have knowledge of Steam Boilers for providing steam for cooking purposes in the district's Central Kitchen.
  • Knowledge for shutting down boilers and valves of all heating systems, dismantle boilers, fireside, and water side for summer cleaning, and necessary repairs.
  • Capability for cleaning, and making repairs for yearly New Jersey State inspections.
  • Capability and knowledge for making necessary repairs to burner assembly.
  • 8. Possess knowledge and capability to perform the following: A. Calibrate Pneumatic Controls B. Test fire burner for boilers C. Inspect, and make necessary repairs to pumps, fans, blowers, compressors, and water tanks and air tanks.
  • Make periodic inspections of equipment to locate, and correct defects before breakdown occurs.
  • 10. Knowledge in the utilization of chemicals for Domestic Hot Water System.
  • Possess the capability to inspect boilers, and make the necessary repairs
  • before breakdown occurs. (Internal and External) 12. Must work with the district assigned engineering firm when major repairs to equipment exists. 13. Must advise management if continued operation of equipment would be hazardous. 14. Must perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Plant Facilities.SALARY: W.E.A.
