In this Field Service Engineer position you will work from your home and travel to customer sites to troubleshoot, startup, calibrate, and maintain industrial boiler control systems. Typical customers include hospitals, universities, district steam plants, prisons and airports with high pressure steam boilers or high temperature hot water generators. Your typical duties will be to conduct combustion testing and boiler combustion tune ups, safety limit testing and calibration, calibration of pressure, temperature and flow instrumentation, troubleshooting of boiler control system problems, repair/replacement of instrumentation to correct system problems, and commissioning or start up for new installations and retrofits. This position will cover the greater metropolitan NYC region. Regional travel to some of their other customers in northern NJ, CT, MA, and RI may be occasionally required.You will be given a company vehicle and all the specialty tools you need, however, you will need to provide your own basic tools. There is little to no overnight travel, you should be home almost every night.You will be given on the job training, shadowing an experienced engineer but they need someone who can hit the ground running.Experience with PLC's and Programmable loop controllers is highly desirable.Base will be $60-$70 + overtime, this is a $75k+ job in the first year with overtime. Benefits include medical, pension, expense account. Company vehicle-this adds $8-$10k to total compensation package. Senior technicians with this company make six figures annually.
