Job Description:
Leaf Forge is seeking a BOILER MAKER OPERATOR for our Pryor, Oklahoma manufacturing facility.Job Summary: The Boiler Maker Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing boilers and related systems to ensure optimal performance and safety in a tobacco primary manufacturing facility. This position requires technical expertise in boiler operation, strong problem-solving skills and adherence to safety standards.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Boiler Operation and Maintenance:
  • Operate boilers and auxiliary equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor boiler systems and controls to ensure efficient and safe operation.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating and adjusting equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and troubleshoot boiler malfunctions.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of boiler operations, maintenance activities, and safety checks.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to boiler operation.
Repairs and Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose and repair boiler system issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Replace defective parts, such as valves, gauges, and piping.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve complex issues.
Performance Monitoring:
  • Monitor and record boiler performance data, including pressure, temperature, and fuel consumption.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and potential issues.
  • Implement corrective actions to optimize boiler efficiency.
Equipment Upgrades and Modifications:
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new boiler equipment and systems.
  • Recommend and implement upgrades to improve boiler performance and energy efficiency.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other maintenance staff and production teams to coordinate activities and minimize production interruptions.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior boiler operators and maintenance personnel.
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED; technical degree or certification in boiler operation or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in boiler operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of boiler systems, controls, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, climbing and lifting heavy objects.
  • Valid boiler operator license or certification as required by local regulations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work is performed in a tobacco primary manufacturing facility.
  • Exposure to high temperatures, loud noises and industrial equipment.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
