JOB CODE: 25010 JOB TITLE: BOILER TENDER ROVER DISPATCHER (UTILITIES) LOCATION: NAS JACKSONVILLE TYPE: FULL-TIME, ROTATING SHIFT FLSA: SCA/NON-EXEMPT RATE OF PAY: $36.86 PER HOUR + UP TO $12.56 PER HOUR H&W GRADE: UNION WORKER'S COMP CODE: 9015 POST DATE: MAY 22, 2023 JOB REQUISTION: JBOS-2024-0015 Supervises: Does not supervise Summary: Performs duties described in the Service Contract Act Directory of Occupations under BOILER TENDER. May perform duties of other classifications that have a pay rate equal to or lower than the employee's current rate Duties/Essential Functions: The Boiler Tender tends one or more boilers to produce steam or high-temperature water for use in an establishment. Fires boiler. Observes and interprets readings on gauges, meters, and charts which register various aspects of boiler operation. Adjusts controls to insure safe and efficient boiler operation and to meet demands for steam or high-temperature water. May also do one or more of the following: maintain a log in which various aspects of boiler operation are recorded; clean, oil, make minor repairs or assist in repair to boiler room equipment; and following prescribed methods, treat boiler water with chemicals and analyze boiler water for such things as acidity, causticity, and alkalinity.
